I have extensive experience working as an editor, writer, and proofreader for both fiction and non-fiction. My attention to detail covers not only spelling and punctuation, but also the fundamental elements of a story. I make sure that the actions and dialogue of your characters are realistic and consistent throughout your manuscript. My goal is to identify and correct any errors that could disrupt your readers' immersion in your narrative, whether it's a missing apostrophe or a character's name. In addition to my editing work, I have provided guidance as a writing tutor and teaching assistant, assisting writers at all skill levels in refining their manuscripts. I prioritize clear communication, timely responses, and ongoing support for questions and advice even after the editing process is complete. Regardless of your current stage in the writing process, my primary aim is always to help your words reach their highest potential before they are shared with the world.​

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The price of services depends on the length of your manuscript.

  • Each contract includes three consultations: before starting, at the mid-point, and after I submit the final product. 

  • Before agreeing to a contract, I require a query about your work (including genre, word count, and a summary). 

  • Before accepting a contract, I will edit the first three pages of your manuscript on the house. This way, you will know what to expect from me, and it will ensure you are happy with my work.

  •  Once you have approved my three-page sample, 50% of the project's final cost is due. 

  • When I am halfway through your manuscript, 25% of the remaining invoice is due. 

  • Upon completion, the final 25% of the agreed price is due. 

  • My services do not include resubmission of edits from the author. 

  • All payments are accepted in CAD.

DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING 

Developmental editing delves even more deeply, uncovering the heart of the story you want to tell and finding the best way to tell it. As a result, it's great for authors who wish to take their book to the next level by making significant changes.

LINE EDITING 

Line editing is best for authors with a fully completed draft. It corrects basic writing mechanics and also strengthens higher-level elements. Therefore, it is ideal if you need help with characterization, pacing, voice, dialogue, and plot.
